an uncommon filament

like a silver strand
holding a soul to the earth,
a thought to the mind,
a dampened spring day to the heart.

this filament,
intricate in its forging
and light in its application
almost invisible to the eye and intangible to the touch
more of a thought than a thing,
this filament.

i can't pretend to describe it in any specific detail,
or even understand it beyond its purported existence.
but i can say that it is loosely related to the inverse of time
and experience
and it binds us all together.
