climbing vines
singing rhymes
and blindly scraping the bottom of the barrel.
light wasn't meant to be so bright,
and all reflections perish in opacity at some point,
along some line
lyrical or not.
this song isn't worth singing
if you can't find the time to tie your shoes
but then again
who's counting?
some may beg for structure and sadness
and others cry for a false aesthetic
an expression that expresses nothing
save self-doubt.
i don't think there is an answer
but the questions are worth the asking
and if the light sears our eyes shut,
like a caustic cauterizing soldering iron,
it is likely we can still perceive through the effete membrane
the progeny of our mind.
my uncanny ability
to loudly search for nothing
and end up with something.
